Motorization is much more common place than 20 years ago. All custom window coverings can be motorized. The size of the shade, blind, or drapery will determine if the motor needs to be line voltage (110) or if low voltage motors can be used. There are motors that lift and lower shades, those that tilt veins, and some lift and tilt. Roller shade motors turn to raise roller shades, and limits are set to stop both up and down travel. Many motorized options can be battery powered and all can be tied into home atomization systems or controlled with I-phones, I-pads, or other smart devices. Hand held remotes can be used as well or wall mounted switches. Solar sensors and timing devices are also available.
